In 2019, commissioned by the Scientific Board Zeeland, I mapped regional developments in Zeeland over the past five years. This was a follow up of the project called ‘De Slimme Kracht van Zeeland’ [Zeelands Smart Force].
For this study I conducted 22 interviews with representatives from education, research, trade and industry and provincial government. In April 2019, the results and recommendations were presented to the Executive Council in Zeeland and the Commissioner to the King. These results can be summarized as three main concepts: decisiveness, collaboration and growing self-consciousness in Zeeland. In response to the research outcomes, the Scientific Board endorsed the results (Brandenbarg, 2019).
