Some time ago, Zuyd University of Applied Sciences (Zuyd) contacted me with a number of questions concerning research supervision, assessment of bachelor theses and professionalization of their (internal and external) supervisors.
My role at Zuyd was is to give intervision meetings and workshops on various issues concerning the grading of the final theses and the supervision thereof. During those meetings, together with supervisors, we critically evaluated the grading system and – process by means of critical cases.
The workshops I developed for Zuyd deal with all phases of applied research and ways in which innovative designs (such as design thinking research and action research) can be successfully added in this cycle. Besides, I offered professionalization of external supervisors of Zuyd who supervise students from their own organization and how are an expert in their own field, but not so much in research.
